The Visitor Center Cashier is the first person to greet and welcome guests to the winery. Excellent communication and interaction with guests is essential. This is an important part time retail sales position with duties that include cleaning and maintaining a well stocked, inviting retail area and conducting sales transactions within the winery gift shop. Complete knowledge about our products and strong sales ability are vital. Applicants must be able to work all weekends and holidays. Additional hours may be required as needed. Welcome guests with a smile, respond quickly to their needs, thank them for visiting and invite them to return. Answer questions, make suggestions, solve problems and perform sales transactions.
Explain the tour and tasting options, sell tasting tickets and direct the guests to the appropriate areas.
Greet and help wine club members with wine club package pick ups, questions and purchases.
Maintain a clean and inviting shopping environment in our winery gift shop. Mark and stock merchandise and wine as needed.
Help with merchandising as requested by the Tasting Room & Retail Sales Manager.
Knowledge and Abilities:

Understand and adhere to the Callaway Vineyard and Winery Company Policies and Procedures.
Become knowledgeable about all of the Callaway wines, merchandise, services and events offered at the winery and restaurant.
Must enjoy social interaction and be willing to initiate conversations with guests.
Must have excellent communication skills. Able to ask questions for clarification and deliver clear and accurate information to guests, coworkers and managers.
Interact with guests and coworkers in a friendly, helpful, respectful manner.
Ability to perform jobs in a timely manner. Must be able to complete forms, complete register transactions and handle money in an accurate manner. Must pay attention to the details.
Must have strong sales capabilities with monthly goals to attain.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
An “artistic” eye, an interest to work in a creative retail environment and previous retail experience is helpful.
Position Summary: In order to provide the best visitor experience possible servers must be happy, friendly, knowledgeable and enjoy working with people. This position requires patience and professionalism at all times and a willingness to be flexible in a busy work environment.
Tasting Room Servers are responsible for all aspects of welcoming, entertaining and serving guests during their visit to the winery tasting room. This includes conducting wine tastings and winery tours, providing product information, promoting sales, assisting guests with purchases and resolving any product or service problems. Servers must be able to convey information accurately, pay attention to details, have good listening and communication skills and work well with others.
This position also requires standing for long periods of time, lifting and daily maintenance of the tasting bar which includes cleaning, stocking, washing glassware, organizing supplies and keeping track of wine inventory.
·Two years experience in hospitality or customer service related fields, retail sales, cashiering and knowledge of the wine industry preferred.
·Must possess a high level of integrity and be able to execute cashiering, cash and inventory handling in an honest manner.
·Must be respectful of customers and coworkers and be able to communicate calmly and clearly in a professional manner. Must be able to and explain products, services and special offers accurately.
·Must be dedicated to the job: able to follow instructions and all company policies, be timely and reliable, motivated and productive, self sufficient and organized.
·Wine knowledge is not required but a genuine interest and desire to learn about wine and the wine industry at work and on your own.
·Must be able to work under pressure, multi-task, meet sales expectations and maintain a positive attitude.
·Able to lift up to 50lbs and stand for long periods of time.
