Tasting Room Host/Hostess (Part time)
Come join our Tasting Room Team at Callaway Vineyard & Winery.
Under the direction of the Tasting Room Manager, the Tasting Room Host/Hostess
is responsible for efficiently and effectively promoting the sale of
wine and non-wine products through customer service and wine pouring.
Essential Tasting Room Duties/Responsibilities:
* Greets all visitors to the winery and pours wines for tasting.
* Describes wines, winemaking techniques, and winery history; answers
visitor’s questions.
* Effectively suggests and sells wine to customers.
* Accurately handles routine purchasing transactions, which include operating
cash register.
* Assists customers with the carry out of purchases to their vehicles
when necessary.
* Provides general tourist information.
* Conducts guided tours.
* Acquires and maintains thorough knowledge of winery and its wines.
* Performs other duties as assigned by manager.
* Washes and polishes glassware for Tasting Room.
Qualifications:
* Outstanding ability in customer service and working with the public.
* Proven ability to effectively communicate with diverse client group.
* Commitment to excellence and high standards.
* Flexibility and ability to manage constantly changing priorities with
enthusiasm.
* Professional appearance and demeanor.
* Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
* Fluent in English.
* Must be at least 21 years old.
* High school diploma or equivalent desired.
* Strong computer proficiency and data entry experience preferred.
Physical/Mental Requirements:
* Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
* Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
* Must be able to effectively stock wine and non-wine merchandise.
* Set-up and break down tables, etc.
* Utilize a dolly or cart to assist in moving heavy objects.
* Ability to understand and accurately follow written and verbal instructions.
Special Event Set-Up/Server position (Part Time)
Under the direction of the Events Manager, the Special
Event Set-Up/Server is responsible for the set-up and execution of
service for winery special events that include weddings, corporate
events, banquets and winery sponsored events. Responsibilities include
complete set-up for special event and prompt and friendly service of
food and beverages and knowledge of Callaway Vineyard & Winery
wines.
Additionally, the applicant should have knowledge of and experience with
proper service etiquette, have effective communication and people skills,
able to handle financial transactions accurately and able to work calmly
under pressure. The applicant must be able to work flexible hours including
weekends and holidays and be able to lift up to 50 lbs
Assistant Wine Club Coordinator (Part time)
Position Summary:
Under limited supervision, responsible for assisting Wine Club Manager
with all activities associated with the Wine Club department and providing
customer service for existing and future Wine Club members.
Key Roles:
Provides customer service and promotes Wine Club Program by phone and
in person
Wine club bar hostess on weekends in the tasting room or when required.
Accurately maintain and enter data into the wine club database program
and point-of-sale systems
Coordinates the development and production of monthly mailings of newsletters,
wine selections, winemaker notes, recipes, wine shipments, etc.
Direct marketing in-bound telephone sales duties, order reviewing and
processing, invoice preparation and verifications, shipping and receiving
and monthly inventory.
Assists with the packaging of quarterly wine shipments for will-call
members
Work and communicate well with other team members of Wine Club Department
Must also be available after hours to assist with Wine Club Events
Work Schedule:
4 days a week including weekends. 25-30 hours per week plus any additional
hours required.
Requirements:
One year experience in hospitality or customer service related field,
retail sales, cashiering and knowledge of wine industry preferred.
Experienced in administrative office skills. Must be able to retain
information quickly.
Must be experienced in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Internet proficient
and able to type 40 wpm with accuracy.
Must be creative, professional, personable, and work well with team members.
Must have excellent telephone manner.
Must be self sufficient, highly organized and be able to multi-task with
attention to detail.
Prepared to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Ability to lift up to 45lbs.
